Abney Park lead singer Captain Robert put together this quick and dirty instruction video on how to give your TV a Steampunk look. They also just posted a new live video online, so I had to include it here. The DIY instructions will work just fine for many models of TVs, but some other models would need something more elaborate in the way of masking. I love the fact that it is such an easy TV mod, makes me think of other equally easy projects one might try.

How many tons does your rock band weigh? That is something of a concern when the band Compressor Head goes on tour, since they mass somewhere around the value of several average automobiles. Not a group you would want to share an overseas flight with, unless you had your own separate escape sequence in case of emergencies. Stickboy does the drums, using 4 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, and no brain (the latter is something of a tradition amongst drummers), while Fingers brings 78 purpose built digits to the lead guitar. There are several other bots in the band, and I am really hoping to get to see them play live some time soon (for several nonstandard values of the term “Live”)

There are several actors who’s roles are off the wall enough that I will watch anything they are in. In The Power Of Few one of those actors, Christopher Walken, has had the shroud of Turin stolen so he can clone Jesus. And just because that wasn’t good enough, there are four other separate story lines going on all of which slam together in the climatic scene. I think this one will be fun.

While the only two Genre movies I have found reference to seem to be fantasies themselves this week (i.e., they don’t actually seem to exist), The Last Stand should be fun, with Arnie as the main protagonist. He is a sheriff with some deputies who don’t have a clue, and the bad guys are heading their way at full speed. Action flics are always a good time, and there are a few more good folks involved with this one; it might just be a winner.
