There are some real interesting bands out of Japan; Hitorie is one of them! The first track is Talkie Dance from their 2nd mini-album released this July, the second is 2013’s Rula Rula from their first full album, and the third is Senseless Wonder from 2014.
Yes, I know that recently I have been using Friday’s to post about things you can watch streaming online, and I will be getting back to that next week. But I just found the new trailer for The Fifth Wave, so I had to post it. Based on the best selling trilogy by author Rick Yancey, it will be hitting the big screen in 2016.
The Attack on Titan feature films hit the big screen in the US on September 30th and October 20th, giving them just enough time between the two to run the TV episodes. The theatrical run is fairly limited, but not impossibly so; go to the Find Theater interface to see where the closest place is and grab your tickets. I am quite excited that I have a theater within a few miles of my location, and I am going to have to spend the money to make sure I get to see this one. Hope to see you there, even if “there” is a venue on the other side of the country!
Victor Frankenstein should do fairly well come Thanksgiving. It is a classic after all, and one with quite a bit of backstory driving it into the future.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 is the next gathering place for what started out as the USENET NEWSGROUP Special Interest Group: GRAPHics, taking place November 2nd to the 5th in Kobe, Japan. One of the highlights of every such gathering is their Computer Animation Festival Trailer, giving you a taste of what many of the best minds of the business are working on. It looks like they have some real goodies this time around; enjoy.
I have been enjoying the Transporter franchise for a while, first the films staring Jason Statham, then the TV series (I love that they kept the same French actor as the Police Inspector for both of those), and now the story line returns to the big screen with The Transporter Refueled. In this iteration we have yet a third actor, Ed Skrein, taking on the role of former special-ops mercenary Frank Martin.
