The first video in this set is Anime USA 2014 Cosplay: “Second Wind”, the following stream is the AwesomeCon attempt last year to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most numbers of Cosplayers/SuperHeroes in one place. They didn’t break the record, but it must have been a hoot and a half to make the attempt!
This time we get Ex Machina, a tale of the worlds first true artificial intelligence. It looks like they are taking the story in an interesting direction, but I don’t seem to be left with an urge to run out to the theater after seeing this trailer. Perhaps it would be a good weekend to catch up on some of the TV shows I follow.
There doesn’t seem to be any science fiction or fantasy this week in either TV or Movies, but there is a show based on a science project; Manhattan: Season One. It uses the Manhattan Project as its backdrop, but doesn’t really use any of the historical figures, most of the characters in the show are fictional.
In Anime, .hack//Legend Of The Twilight: Complete Series brings another dozen episodes and a new story line from inside The World, the massive gaming system. Getting this weeks Longest Title award is Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion, continuing the battle of the magical girls to escape their fate. Durarara!! Complete Series puts all 26 stories about the headless motor cycle vigilante into a single box set for the first time in North America, but it is a bit pricey. I tend to recommend waiting until you can catch it on sale. One Piece: Season 6 Part 4 contains the final 11 episodes of the sixth year of the show, as Luffy continues his fight to become King of the Pirates.
A Crow Is White just released their third mini-album in January, called Himitsu, and the first video here is the title track. The next one is their 2013 song Sunny Side Up, and the third one is Hi-speed Muteppou. They are an Art-Rock band from Japan, and they have put together quite a number of quality songs, of which these are only a few.
I know this is very redundant of me, but I found a ton of great stuff yesterday while looking up the last AwesomeCon event, DC’s version of ComicCon, so I wanted to share a few more today. The first one is a Cosplay LipDub (what anyone else would call Lip Syncing) from last years Anime USA event. The second one is more Cosplay set to music from AwesomeCon itself, and while you will see some of the most popular Cosplayers from yesterdays posting, lots of these folks were overlooked in both of those videos, and deserved to be noticed. Enjoy!
Another excellent example of Cosplay, this time from the 2014 AwesomeCon convention, the ComicCon event in our nations capitol (unless, obviously, you are from some other country, in which case the correct phrase would be their nations capitol). This video was put together by the Close Quarters Cosplay team. Because I couldn’t stop there, I also had to include their Anime USA 2014 Cosplay Fun video, and I think they made an excellent choice for the music bed on that one. I particularly liked that they had a Cowboy Bebop track running while the Cowboy Bebop Cosplayers were on the screen, but the TommyHeavenly6 was a very nice touch as well.
