It was Leonard Nimoy’s birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday, Leonard!), so it seemed like the perfect week to post his video with Bruno Mars on the Lazy Song. If you haven’t seen this one yet, it is wonderfully silly and shows you just how comedic Nimoy can be without even using words.

Today, March 22nd, is Talk Like William Shatner day because it is the birthday of both William Shatner and James T. Kirk. In honor of the event the folks at Think Geek have a Shatner Mask in PDF format they invite you to download for free, print out, wear in public, and take a picture to send them (work safe only, please). They have various Star Trek goodies they are giving away, you can see the prize list and the rules on that page.

Some of the music (OK, a LOT of the music) Shatner has created has been sad and hysterical at the same time, like his early 70s rendition of Rocket Man. A much smaller number of his songs have been better than the original versions, like his go at Common People. And on very rare occasions he has given us an original work or following up on. But this one is flat out scary; Part of the creation process for his new song, a cover of Iron Man. I can’t wait to see the finished product.

I just watched this at Sci-Fi Mafia, who got it from Empire Online, and it gave me a serious smile and a bit of a tear. They asked each of the primary actors in Harry Potter to sum up their 10 year experience of making the movies in one word. This was the result. You will also find a tasty Alan Rickman quote about it all at Sci-Fi Mafia, and some more cast videos at Empire Online, so be sure to stop by.
