There is one Armageddon type movie this week in the form of The Divide, where survivors of a nuclear attack are trapped together for days in the basement of their apartment building. I am sure there will be plenty of human drama in this, but I have no intention of seeing it. I think the 3D remastering of 1991’s Beauty and the Beast has a much better chance of being entertaining. In fact, I would be there without the feature just to see the new short that will be warming up the screen beforehand Tangled Ever After.

Not really; the only new release this week that comes close to being genre is the no-budget horror flic The Devil Inside, which even by horror standards appears to be a yawnfest. Perhaps you could better spend the time assembling some of those items you received for x-mas but have not yet managed to identify. Congrats to all of us who survived into 2012! I hope the new year has some excitement and surprises in store for you.

I had commented previously about the Snake Pliskin inspired Luc Besson new movie, Lockout. Now the movie has a new name: MS One: Maximum Security, and to go with that new name it has a new trailer, which is even more interesting than the last one. Target date to see this on the big screen is April 13, 2012, barring any major problems, and it looks like a serious monster. It still doesn’t have a home page that I can find, but that too is no doubt coming soon.
