This week we get Listening, a film about some of the potential consequences of inventing mechanically induced telepathy. I assume it is an Indi film since I could not find a major distribution company associated with it, since it has won a number of awards on the film fest circuit, and since it will only be in a limited number of theaters. If you aren’t near one of those theaters it will also be available on demand from iTunes, so you can watch it anywhere you are. Another option is the non-genre Bollywood film Hero, about a Mumbai gangster and the police chief’s daughter. It is an action/romance film complete with dance numbers, for those looking for a change of pace.

'Hero' Hindi Movie Official Trailer 2015 Sooraj… by sohailshoukat2704

The Attack on Titan feature films hit the big screen in the US on September 30th and October 20th, giving them just enough time between the two to run the TV episodes. The theatrical run is fairly limited, but not impossibly so; go to the Find Theater interface to see where the closest place is and grab your tickets. I am quite excited that I have a theater within a few miles of my location, and I am going to have to spend the money to make sure I get to see this one. Hope to see you there, even if “there” is a venue on the other side of the country!

I have been enjoying the Transporter franchise for a while, first the films staring Jason Statham, then the TV series (I love that they kept the same French actor as the Police Inspector for both of those), and now the story line returns to the big screen with The Transporter Refueled. In this iteration we have yet a third actor, Ed Skrein, taking on the role of former special-ops mercenary Frank Martin.

This is the first Aurora Official Trailer, and it makes the potential movie look very interesting. In 2020 super-computer Kronos concludes that human beings are the biggest threat to the planet, and takes action. The movie begins in 2080, when Andrew meets Calia, a girl heading back to robot-free Aurora and latches on to her for dear life. This is yet another of those movies where frail humans like ourselves go toe-to-toe against our Evil Robot Overlords, and I have to tell you, our prospects are not great. But we might just have a chance. This Swiss science fiction film looks like it has some potential, and I hope I get a chance to check it out on the big screen.
