To be specific, he dropped in to Craig Ferguson’s late night TV show, and the first video here did not, apparently, air. The second one did, and comes from Craig’s YouTube page.
Word is out the Doctor Who Christmas Special will air in the US this year on the same day it does in the UK; December 25th! Usually it lags over here by several months, but last year they did announce that Torchwood would air here 5 hours after it aired in London. As it turned out that didn’t happen, although the lag was no where near as long as it could have been. We will see if they keep the promise of same day release this year or not.
There are two other SF holiday specials to look forward to as well. Eureka and Warehouse 13 have been announced as running back to back on Tuesday, December 7th, beginning at 9PM Eastern/Pacific time.
Thanks to Airlock Alpha and Slice of SciFi for the heads up on the specials.
Thanks to the good folks at the Gallifreyan Embassy, we now know about these deleted scenes that really should have been in their respective episodes anyways. I suppose they are surfacing now because of the release this Tuesday of the latest season of the Doctor on DVD.
A German TV show based on the most off the wall character Stanislaw Lem ever wrote about? Yes, there is, and it is called Ijon Tichy, Raumpilot, or Ijon Tichy, Spacepilot in English. The animation on the home page says it all, but here is a trailer to go with that image. You can also watch the 15 minute long episodes online, either on the home page or over on YouTube.
There is a new trailer for the UK show Misfits which is about to launch into season 2. If you enjoyed Heroes back when they were good and you like intelligent comedy, this may just be the show for you. A group of scruffy young folks on a Community Service sentence get struck by lightning and develop strange powers. This program actually won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award for Best Drama, awarded in June. So far as I know, no one is currently planning to bring this to the US; I hope that changes soon.
The new Game of Thrones trailer, the George R.R. Martin series from HBO, premiering in 2011; The new Fringe trailer from Fox, with the new season kicking off the 23rd of September. The new season 4 trailer for Chuck on NBC, with a season that promises to be the best one yet. From Syfy, Stargate Universe and Caprica. There are a whole lot more, but get ready, because the majority of the new season starts next week!
