When Taka (of One OK Rock fame) decided this was a band he liked so much he wanted to create music with them/her, I figured it was time for me to check them out. The band is Against The Current, which has manifested in a number of different ways over the past 4 years. But it boils down to the talents of Chrissy Costanza and whoever is working with her this time, with Alex Goot managing to keep up with her for a few years, and an assortment of other talented people. The Duet with Taka comes first, of course…

This fun little power pop/punk/indi tune by Sleater-Kinney, A New Wave, was done as a Bob’s Burgers animation, and I like both the music and the artwork in this presentation. That wasn’t the first connection between an alt rock band and the show; back in 2013 St. Vincent also made an appearance with their song Bad Girls. Thanks to Nerdist for the heads up on this one.

Shishamo is an excellent band out of Japan, and their new song I, actually is a fun J-Rock song. I like this band better every time I hear them, and this song is from their new release SHISHAMO2, which will be coming out on March 4th. The one after that is from their 2013 debut album

The new Superfly track is called White Light, released as a single last month. It is the title track of their new digital album, which will be coming out on May 27th.This song is the opening theme for Tales of Zestiria, an RPG for PS3. This short advertising version is the only one I found that can be legally posted, or I would have put the full 4 minutes on the page.

Archive Dot Org has a great assortment of X-1 episodes which you can listen to online, or download for your own collection. The show was one of the better presentations of science fiction radio plays, built from stories that appeared in Galaxy magazine, written by some of the best authors of the era. This program has been in the public domain for quite a while now, which kind of surprises me, as I would have thought they would want to hold on to it. Here are a few episodes to get you started; there are quite a few more available.
