Jellybean evidence has been requested by several folks who looked at the Shrek image the other day and contacted me to say they did not see the jellybeans I said it was made out of. So here is a smaller portion of the same picture, but not shrunk to avoid eradicating the details. It was actually missing from the window the final day I was there. When I inquired about it, I was told they had removed it to get the display area ready for their next creation; something in a Tardis, I believe.

Frank Frazetta died yesterday at the age of 82. One of the most amazing artists I know, he pretty much defined barbarian fantasy art. If you don’t recognize the name, go to his home page and check his galleries, where you will discover you have known his art all your life. It is sad to think he is no longer with us, and there will be no new works from his hand.

Erik Johansson takes pictures and then digitally manipulates them. So do lots of other people, but not many get such interesting results. If I had to guess, I don’t think he’s from outer space, but the universe next door wouldn’t surprise me. I thought the link to this artist came from Six Revisions, but now I can’t find it to confirm. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t visit that site; lots of great info about building your own piece of the web to be found there.

A 49 foot tall Giant Robo Asimo kicked off the 120th Rose Parade on New Years to help celebrate Honda’s 50th year in the US. Not as powerful as the Anime Giant Robo, but not as silly as the Live Action Giant Robo, this version was biodegradable and hydrogen powered for that green effect. Also not to be confused with the chain of art galleries banded together under the Giant Robo flag, like GR-SF, GR-NY, or the LA outlet, simply called GR2. And then there is the robot-building farmer…
