I have never played Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock, or watched the show that spawned it. But now, thanks to the good folks at Geek Tyrant I have a handy image that shows me exactly what trumps which and why. It actually looks like it could be kind of fun, and definitely geeky.
The trailer isn’t triple X, in fact it is safe for work. The movie itself is a XXX parody of Tomb Raider, and according to several sources it actually looks like it could be fairly entertaining. This is being released to DVD sometime in February, so you might want to keep your eye out for it. Thanks to the folks at Kotaku for the heads up on this one.
With the full title Every Doctor Who Story 1963 to Now – A Babelcolour Tribute, this is a wonderful little video. And while any given show generally gets around 5 seconds of video, he really did manage to cover at least all the surviving stories, and gave the name and number of the ones that didn’t survive. Also included were various spinoffs, Children In Need specials, movies, parodies, games, and animations. There are a number of other Who tributes on the site you should check out; since I particularly like the Sarah Jane tribute, I am including that one as well.
They just keep making the Resident Evil movies, and another one will be coming our way in September. This trailer is kind of cute; it starts out like a smartphone add, but it isn’t. This is the 5th movie for the franchise, which is pretty intense when you realize most games made into movies never get a sequel.
I enjoy the heck out of online Virtual Reality environments, and this is a perfect example of why; I get to be the Death of Rats (one of my favorite Terry Pratchett characters from his Discworld series), flying one of the Airships featured in the recent Steampunk movie version of the Three Musketeers. The universe these pictures were taken in is Second Life, which has been around for a while but is still an awful lot of fun. I had found that ship an hour or two after the Role Playing class I attended (last picture; it is difficult to see me hidden by the wings of the fairy sitting behind me), where the instructor was a red demoness on a bar stool, with her assistant teacher being a 10 meter long yellow dragon. Some of the smaller non-humans brought their own seating arrangements, like the cushion the mouse lady in the lower right corner of the picture is using.
