The new Superfly release comes out Tuesday, called By Blowing the Love to the Body (approximately) for the regular edition, they change the word order a bit for the special edition. They are a great rock band who have been cranking out music since 2007, you can pick up their stuff on iTunes.

A couple of classic tunes put together in minimal time to tie them to an animation, created in iClone. The minimal time factor explains why the lip sync is so bad, and the crudeness of some of the other animation aspects. But while as a viewer I can critique these as not being as perfect as the music videos from world class productions like Frozen, as a creator I am in awe that a single person working from an extremely tight deadline managed to put out anything at all, let alone anything as tightly animated and choreographed as this. I mean, compare the budget, timeline, and production staff between the two projects and see if you don’t understand what I am referring to. Kudo’s to Jay for creating such amazing product under this kind of constraint. And he did it using a couple of my all time favorite tunes, always a bonus!

The entire collection of excellent audio from Kill Dil, the Bollywood variation on Kill Bill, sort of. Except with a different plot, a great collection of music, and you can dance to it! It should only take you about 40 minutes to go through the entire collection, and you can follow that by watching the trailer. It will be hitting the big screen on November 14th, but I have not confirmed in which country. Enjoy!

It is not a joke, and it fits in perfectly with the end of the last set of episodes. Twin Peaks is returning to TV after an absence of 25 years. Not for very long; only about 9 episodes, and a short and simple mini-series. But still, any new Twin Peaks will always be a bonus! Then again, there is always the band Twin Peaks doing their song Making Breakfast, which I figure has to be a tip of the hat to Kyle’s addiction to Coffee and all things breakfast.

SCANDAL are four women who can seriously rock, and they have announced there will be US dates on their upcoming world tour, Hello World. So far they only have dates and cities listed for Japan, with the tour there scheduled from January through March, to be followed by stops in Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, the UK, and the USA, not necessarily in that order. If you are wondering what they sound like, here is a taste; the first track is Shunkan Sentimental , the second is Awanaitsumorino; Genkidene (I Don’t Plan On Seeing You; Take Care), and the third is Kagen no Tsuki (The Waning Moon). Note that the third song title was the name of a Manga that was turned into a live action movie in 2004, and also the name of the opening song in 2007’s Princess Mononoke anime; this song has nothing to do with either of those things.

Passepied is a great little alternative band with a wonderful graphic sense and some good animation work that I have featured here before, but this is the first time I have heard an English vocal track on one of their songs. The song is Tokyo City Underground, and I posted the Japanese version back in June when it came out; I like it even more now that I know what they are singing about. If you are thinking about putting together your own short animation like the ones they create you might also want to check out their Making-Of video to get an idea of what all goes into the process. And yes, you can pick up a lot of their music at iTunes.
