The new season of Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga has begun with Rin Okumura now under the direct supervision of Shura. He either gets his flames under control and uses them to defeat evil, or he gets wiped out himself as part of the problem. This is the first week of the winter season, I am going to have to spend some time and check out the new shows as well as the returning ones. There is the usual collection of reviews at Anime News Network to get you started, with shows streaming at Crunchyroll, Funimation, Daisuki, and Viz, among others.

The music just gets better with each new track they release, and this time is no different. We start off with Leo Imai doing Bird Of Paradise, posted on November 17th, and recorded on November 9th at Fever, Tokyo. Next we have the official METAFIVE Musical Chairs track, posted on November 9th, and I couldn’t help but include Maisie’s Avenue yet again, one of my favorite tracks of 2016, or perhaps even my favorite. This is my new favorite group from Japan, assembled around Yukihiro Takahashi of Yellow Magic Orchestra fame, you should listen to everything they have recorded.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have some new Webisodes streaming: Slingshot! Each Webisode is about 5 minutes long, and a major percentage of the core characters are here, telling a story they couldn’t fit in to the regular TV episodes. This is one of the aspects of the multi-screen experience I really appreciate, where they expand the universe the stories take place in rather than just use it to sell the main TV show. Considering how much greater depth each actor gets to bring to their character’s story, I can’t help but believe they appreciate it as well. Here is the first episode of the Slingshot mini-series; be sure to visit their YouTube channel to see the entire sequence.

New music from One OK Rock is always worth celebrating, and there are a few recent tracks to enjoy. The first is Taking Off, posted on November 30th, a nice acoustic track from a Studio Jam Session which has Taka sporting a new look. The track after that is the full official version of the song, followed by Bedroom Warefare. These are from their new album Ambitions, their tour to support the new release began 4 weeks ago, the album becomes digitally available worldwide on January 13th, and yes, that means on iTunes, Amazon, and the other usual outlets.
