Marvel’s Iron Fist comes to Netflix on March 17th, the final member they need to launch The Defenders. The trailer looks quite tasty, I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.
This animated short is too adorable for words! The audio is Moses Supposes from 1952’s Singing In The Rain, the animation itself is very well done. Thanks to GoBoiano for the heads up on this one, and thanks to Bowing for doing the animation and posting it. At least it looked like he was one of the creators when I fed his statements through Google Translate.
Amazon streaming video is releasing Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter next Friday, the 27th. Based on the Astrid Lindgren fantasy novel and put together by Goro Miyazaki at Studio Ghibli, with Gillian Anderson narrating the story. On that same day, Netflix will launch iBoy, a movie about a teen with cell phone superpowers running around London. I plan to check them both out, as they both look interesting in completely different ways. The Ronja trailer is here, see my previous post for the iBoy trailer.
Based on the 2010 Kevin Brooks novel, Netflix’s iBoy should be a wild ride. It looks like they did it as a single movie rather than a series, and you can watch it on Friday the 27th. Yes, that does mean the end of next week.
The new season of Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga has begun with Rin Okumura now under the direct supervision of Shura. He either gets his flames under control and uses them to defeat evil, or he gets wiped out himself as part of the problem. This is the first week of the winter season, I am going to have to spend some time and check out the new shows as well as the returning ones. There is the usual collection of reviews at Anime News Network to get you started, with shows streaming at Crunchyroll, Funimation, Daisuki, and Viz, among others.
Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga Episode 1 is coming to DAISUKE on January 6th! The new season of the show will be streamed by DAISUKI across an area that includes the US, Canada, Oceania, and Europe, so if you live in one of those you are just days away from all new episodes.
