This week we get Insurgent, the second story in the Divergent series. The Divergent trilogy (which seems to have either 4 or 5 books in it) is a YA series written by Veronica Roth, full of action and adventure. Since it was so popular it became a good choice for converting into a series of movies, and most likely the film I will be enjoying this weekend.
Daredevil looks good but the next Avengers looks incredible. I can’t wait to see this one on the big screen!
This week we get Chappie, the latest tale of evolution and injustice from Neill Blomkamp. This one looks to be a fitting followup to District 9, in the same spirit and filmed in the same area.
As you have probably heard by now we lost Leonard Nimoy today. He was an amazing actor, but first and foremost he was Spock.
With time travel at the core of the story, Terminator Genisys is poised for a reboot in ways orther movies haven’t been able to touch, spinning off its own parallel timeline as part of the acknowledged plot. I loved the first two films in the franchise, the ones after not so much. This trailer makes me want to be in the theaters for a Terminator movie for the first time in a long while; hope to see you there. Too bad we have to wait until July of next year.
Some of this stuff you just can’t make up. How about Eye of the Tiger played on a dot matrix printer? Or maybe you would prefer Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor? These are just two of the wonderful choices created by MIDIDesaster, a person who’s motto is Abusing old hardware to play music. I like these, and hope they will make a lot more tunes this way.
