This week there is a new CD being released by the Wagakki Band which includes the song Synchronicity (the first track), posted just a few weeks ago. The album is a Best Of collection mixed with a few new songs created for Hana Hanako’s recent solo project. The second track is Tengaku from their original 2013 album.

There are a number of choices this weekend, but top of the list in my mind is Pixar’s Coco, which just looks like too much fun to miss. It actually starts playing on Wednesday, to take advantage of the long holiday weekend. John Cusack’s new film Singularity could be interesting, but the trailer makes me think I have already seen this movie through a few dozen earlier iterations. I will have to see the documentary Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars, but I don’t think it requires the big screen to make it worthwhile, so I will catch it when it streams. Firangi on the other hand may need the larger venue, so I might have to check that one out this weekend as well.

Just a few days ago PolkadotStingray uploaded another track from their new album; the song is called Surrender and in just those few days it has received over 185,000 views. The second track, Mizuho Dance, was posted on October 25th, and has collected just under 1,140,000 views to date. I am not sure if that one is part of the new album, since it was put together in honor of the Mizuho Financial Group’s Jump Project, but it was too good a tune not to share it with everyone.

The band Gesu no Kiwami Otome, or Guess’ Extreme Maiden in English, is an Indi/Alternative band from Tokyo who got together in 2012. The first song is I will not lose to you, and since it was posted online on October 9th it has received over a million views. The second track is Darumasan, with Daruma’s rolling around all over the playing area. That one is more of a song fragment it is so short, there is a longer version available but I really like the visuals so I went with the fragment.
